Objective Statement
The objective statement will clearly highlight your ambition and dedication in the nursing profession. This should be precise and will explain to the prospective employer the role you are looking
Work Experience
You should include your job designation, the organization and the period of work. You should use a bulleted list to highlight your various responsibilities and achievements. If you are an entry level nurse with limited experience you should include any relevant voluntary work
Prospective employers need to understand the scope of your experience. It is therefore important that your past work experience is presented well in your resume. Also try to show how have gone above and beyond your job duties to make a postive contribution to employers, patients, families etc.
Expertise/Skills
This should be a bulleted list showing you proficiency areas and gives prospective employers a easy to read snapshot of your capabilities
Education and Nursing Certifications
Your academic information should be listed in reverse chronological order i.e Most recent first.
References
Although not compulsory, references are expected ! so that if needed the prospective employer can contact them to ask any questions they may have. You should therefore ensure that the people you list are aware that you have them as a reference and that they are readily available to take phone calls if needed.
